Dr. LoVerme is a past-president of the New Jersey Society of Plastic Surgeons and a Clinical Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at UMDNJ - New Jersey Medical School where he has participated in teaching the art of Plastic Surgery to New Jersey and New York area students since 1985.
Dr. Paul LoVerme graduated from Boston University with a degree in Biology and received his M.D. degree from UMDNJ - New Jersey Medical School in 1978. He completed residencies in General Surgery at UMDNJ and in Plastic Surgery at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo.
He joined his father, Stephen R. LoVerme, M.D., in the private practice of cosmetic surgery and reconstructive plastic surgery after 12 years of accredited training in Medicine, Surgery, and Plastic Surgery.
Paul LoVerme, MD has dual board certifications in Surgery and Plastic Surgery and a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery. He currently limits his practice to Plastic Surgery at his New Jersey clinic, with a strong emphasis on Aesthetic Surgery. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). Dr. LoVerme is President elect of the New Jersey Chapter of the American College of Surgeons and is a Governor from New Jersey to the American College of Surgeons at their national headquarters in Chicago.
Growing up in a medical family influenced Dr. Paul LoVerme to be a surgeon at an early age. Besides his Plastic Surgeon father, his grandfather was a Neurosurgeon in New York City. His brothers have also followed the family tradition - William is a Plastic Surgeon in Wellesley and Boston, MA, and Stephen is a Neurologist in Beverly, MA. His sister Mary Lou is a physical therapist.
The single most important factor in the success of Plastic Surgery is the surgeon you select. While Dr. Paul LoVerme is proud that his honors and certifications attest to his knowledge it is, his skill, training, and experience as a surgeon that is his greatest accomplishment. He has an excellent reputation for his natural appearing results and is often chosen by his colleagues and nurses for their plastic surgery needs.
Dr. Paul LoVerme has traveled to Mexico, Kenya, El Salvador and Ecuador as a Trip Chief with Healing the Children/Midlantic, providing reconstructive surgery to over 500 needy children in impoverished areas. Dr. LoVerme has also treated children from Ethiopia, Russia, Dominican Republic, Columbia, and Afghanistan who were flown here for care that they could not receive in their home country.
Dr. Paul LoVerme's commitment to his patients is to provide state-of-the-art, high-tech care in a personal, warm and private setting. It is his combination of artistry, knowledge, skill and compassion which appeals to the most discriminating New Jersey and New York patients.
Paul LoVerme, MD and his wife reside in northern New Jersey. Together Dr. LoVerme and his wife have three children. The LoVermes enjoy water sports (especially sailing) and gardening. They also enjoy good food and wine, and have started a gourmet club with friends.
