Dr. Erik Miles, FACS is a double board certified plastic surgeon who is proud to serve the North Charlotte community. He has expertise in both aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. After college, he chose to delay his medical training in order to pursue a lifelong goal of becoming an aviator in the United States Navy. He successfully completed flight training and was selected to fly high performance military jet aircraft. His deployments aboard aircraft carriers around the world earned him numerous military awards and gave him invaluable life experiences. After serving as an officer for eight years, Dr. Miles was honorably discharged from the military in order to pursue his ultimate goal of becoming a physician and plastic surgeon.

His formal medical education began at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where he earned his medical degree. He subsequently completed an internship and residency in General Surgery at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas. During this time, he received exceptional training in pediatric surgery, trauma surgery and critical care medicine. He also received training in burn surgery at the renowned Parkland Memorial Hospital Burn Center. Dr. Miles is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.

Dr. Miles went on to attain a highly competitive position in the residency program at The Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas, where he completed his plastic surgery training at the legendary Texas Medical Center. This nucleus of healthcare facilities is the world’s largest medical center and offers an unparalleled training experience. During this time, he received extensive aesthetic surgery training at St. Joseph Hospital, whose proud history boasts the original pioneers of breast implant surgery. While there, he learned from internationally recognized aesthetic plastic surgeons as well as leaders in the field of reconstructive surgery at the prestigious MD Anderson Cancer Center. He has written and presented scientific papers on various topics including novel techniques for Botox treatment. He has also volunteered his time for medical missions, most recently participating on a trip to South America where he performed corrective surgery on children with disfiguring birth defects.
